Military thanks town/Tim Hortons for gift cards for soldiers
Posted Feb 8, 2010 By EMC NewsThe halfway point between Petawawa and Ottawa is Arnprior. And now members of the Canadian military and/or their families have an even better reason to stop here.
“Today is an opportunity for the Town of Arnprior to partner with the Legion and Tim Hortons to recognize the men and women that defend this country that are often deployed outside of this country,” mayor Terry Gibeau stated Feb. 1 at the Tim Hortons on Daniel Street.
The Town of Arnprior and Tim Hortons have come together to provide Tim Hortons gift cards to members of the military being deployed to service or members of their family left behind during deployment. The cards would be managed through the base’s deployment officer, Capt. Chico Traclett.
The town has purchased 400 $5 gift cards and Tim Hortons has donated 200 of the same and last Monday morning, CFB Petawawa base commander Lt.-Col. Keith Rudderham came to town offer received the gift cards and offer his personal thanks on behalf of the military and their families.
