EMC Business - What do pens and pencils, computer accessories and U-Hauls have in common? They are all available at one convenient location in Arnprior.

The Arnprior Business Centre opened its doors in March at 100 Madawaska Blvd. and in the interest of providing maximum service to local residents, the business goes beyond traditional office supplies - although there are plenty of those too!

Jeffrey Boudreau of Fitzroy Harbour started up the business because he wanted to be his own boss and do something he enjoyed.

"I wanted to do the computer work and computer repairs and the office supply and stationary side of things tied into it," the young businessman admitted. "You have to diversify to be successful."

On the business side of things, the Arnprior Business Centre carries everything from stationary to print and copier paper, ink and toner cartridges and business cards. Photocopies are available in black and white and colour and fax services. As well, suite mailbox rentals are available on site.

On the computer side, Boudreau offers computer repairs, virus and spy ware removal, parts and accessories, refurbished computers and more.

"My first computer, I built it myself," he admitted, adding he is looking to carry more equipment and new computers by Christmas of 2010.

"We also sell new releases of video games," Boudreau added.

When the existing U-Haul independent dealer got out of the business, Boudreau figured it just made sense to include that service, considering there is a large parking lot at the side of his business to house trucks.

"We sell boxes and packing tape, and the trucks go hand and hand with moving," he stated, adding the guaranteed income of U-Haul was comforting when starting up a new business.

Boudreau is assisted in the store by his father Albert who said he believes the store is in a good, visible location. Beyond that, he noted that having all these services under one roof means local residents need not drive into the city for items they need.

"Our prices are comparable to what's in the city," Albert Boudreau noted. "We have a catalogue at our disposal. Just because it's not in the store, it does not mean we don't have it."

He added the Arnprior Business Centre "has the lowest repair costs in all of Arnprior."

With back to school just around the corner, Arnprior Business Centre will be stocking all the latest school supplies such as pens, paper and backpacks.

The business ran a promotion for the month of June where money raised from the sale of Canadian flags was donated to the Arnprior Legion.

The Arnprior Business Centre is on the social networking site Facebook and is open for business seven days a week - Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Small businesses within Arnprior that place orders by phone or fax have the option of having the orders delivered.
